Since 1973, Founder Madam Gwee Peck Hua has lived and breathed pork ribs soup. Together with her sister, Gwee Guek Hwa, both sisters worked tirelessly to perfecting the recipe for the finest bowl of Teochew-style Bak Kut Teh, at a stall in River Valley Road.
Madam Gwee’s meticulous dedication to detail comes through in every bowl of Bak Kut Teh. Only the freshest ingredients are used. This signature brew of pepper and spices is recognized by many in Singapore. Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh is the proud winner of the Singapore Hawker Masters award in 2012 and 2013.
